Lorenzi Championships has begun.

Singles and doubles began tonight at the Lorenzi Tennis Championships. Many players and fans were on hand to see the matches. April Chavez took care of checking in each player and making sure they were set up with a court and their free T-Shirt. She herself is not playing in the tournament as their is no ladies 4.5 draw,.....Click here to read more.....

Tanja Barrows, the number on e seed is also in the semifinals playing Jill Chase who today defeated Joni Wolfe in a very close match where the last two sets were won by Jill 7-6, 7-6 in Tie breakers. Joni had won the first set 6-4. Joni had won the Lorenzi tennis classic weeks ago in the same category. Aly Wagonseller and  Virginia Adams  play tomorrow in the semifinals which is not new Territory for Virginia who was just in the finals of the Lorenzi classic for woman's doubles with partner Joni Wolfe. They came in second there.

Womans 3.5 doubles was won by Tanja Barrows and Deborah Pettit. Joni Wolfe, the single winner won second in doubles with partner Virginia Adams.

Ladies 3.5 winner was Nancy Unglaub. Tanja Barrows came in second. This was a great match that came down to the wire. It went back and forth on add and deuce many times, and in many games. It went back and forth on sets. The first going to Nancy 6-4; the second to Tanja 4-6; and the final set was won in a tie breaker by Nancy, 7-6.  I had a choice to tape this match or the open match, and I knew this one was the one to tape.
