9th Annual Darling Charity Tournament May 2002.

John Hempel, who when walking by the T.V. set at Sports Club Green Valley on thursday I saw on the big screen being interviewed on the local news for his business, was here in person Friday night playing singles in the men's 4.5, defeating his opponent in three sets. It is weird because unlike the massive swing that is often seen on the 4.5 level, John is fairlycasual out there but when you see the result of his shots it is often a well placed bullet, yet if you just watch his swing and body language you would see a walk through the park.Onidio Mirabal  still gave him a run for his money forcing him to three sets. Kenneth  Moy the number 4 seed defeated Drew Isley in three sets.
