Baskin Park

I was playing tennis at Baskin Park Saturday. It is a perk on the west side of twon on Oakey where a lot of tennis players from 3.0 to 5.0 come for pick up games. Some players are there almost everyday, while others a few times a week and the there are the occasional players that stop in from time to time.

In the middle of my singles match I look over and notice two girls come in. While it came to me they were looking for an empty court to play one another, I knew that they were here to play in.

So it was not a surprise to me when the doubles game ended the request was made by one of the girls parents if the girls could play in.

The request was granted, and off they went making a good challenge to the existing owners of the court.

After two sets they parted and left, and while they were playing I was led to give the girls parents my card, letting them know there is a section on this web site for juniors tennis and that if either of the girls wanted to participate in submitting content, articles, scores or any creative idea they had, they were welcome.

Then after two sets the girls left. And then one girl came back, and I knew why, so I stopped playing and walked over. She was hesitant to speak so her father said "She would like to write an article for the web site."

I said o.k., you can submit what ever you are led to. My name is Ryan, and she introduced herself as Cheryle.
